What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us. If you contact us through the enquiry form, by email or by phone, we receive:

• your name and the company you work for, if you give it
• your email address and phone number
• the details of your scheme or enquiry, and anything else you include in your message

Like almost every website, the servers that deliver this site briefly record technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. These records are used to keep the site secure and working. We do not use them to identify you.

How we use it

We use the details you send us to reply to your enquiry, to discuss and price work, and to carry out any contract that follows. We do not use your details for marketing, we do not sell them, and we do not use automated decision making or profiling.

Our legal basis

We rely on our legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries. Where we go on to agree a contract with you or your organisation, we rely on the contract. We also keep some records because the law requires it, for example for tax and accounting.

Who handles it for us

We use a small number of service providers who act on our instructions:

• Cloudflare, which hosts and delivers this website.
• A form-handling service, also running on Cloudflare, which passes messages from the enquiry form to us by email. It does not keep a copy once the message has been sent.
• Our email provider, which stores the messages we send and receive.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they are bound by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses. We may also share information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that do not lead to work for up to two years from our last contact, then delete them. Where work goes ahead, we keep project records for six years after the contract ends, in line with standard legal and tax requirements.

Cookies

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not load fonts or scripts from other companies. See our cookie policy for details.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
• delete your information, where we have no reason to keep it
• stop or limit how we use it, or object to our use of it
• pass it to you or another organisation in a common format

Email info@countrywide-contractors.co.uk to make a request. There is normally no charge, and we will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
